If you have an issure that can be dealt with over the telephone then please advise the receptionist when making your appointment. As long as an examination is not needed then a telephone consultation more appropriate. Queries about medication, sick lines, test results and advice are all approperate uses for a telephone consultation. Please advise the receptionist when making your appointment that you would be happy to take a telephone consultation.
Appointments can be made by telephoning the surgery on 01333 350241. All patients should be able to obtain advice from a health care professional or pharmacist within 48 hours.
Please note that it is not always possible to see the GP of your choice, you will have to wait longer for an appointment if you do not want to see the next available Doctor.
Patients should also be aware that each person requiring to be seen will require a separate appointment.
From the 13th March, due to the increase in the number of patients failing to attend pre booked appointments, a large portion of our appointments will become same day appointments.
If you can wait to see a doctor please choose a pre booked appointment. If your condition needs assessing sooner then please phone at 8am for an on the day to request a same day appointment.
Please show consideration to other users of the service by informing the reception staff if an appointment cannot be kept so that it can be offered to someone else.

If possible please try to telephone reception before 10am if you require a home visit.
A doctor or nurse may phone you back as it may be that your problem can be dealt with by telephone advice, or that it would be more appropriate to send a nurse, or indeed arrange a hospital attendance.
House visits are only available for patients who are housebound because of illness or disability.
Please remember that several patients can be seen in the practice in the time that it takes to make one home visit. There are also better facilities for examining and treating patients at the Health Centre.

On Wednesdays we have appointments between 07:30-08:20 to help working patients attend for appointments. These appointments are pre-bookable.
Please use these appointments for the review of on-going problems. You will need to book your appointment well in advance as the next Routine Appointment with the doctor of your choice may be approximately 2 weeks in the future.
Each day we will release appointments, where possible for each doctor and our Nurse Practitioner. If you wish one of these appointments you are advised to phone our reception from 8am, as the appointments will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
THESE ARE NOT MINOR AILMENT APPOINTMENTS - YOU SHOULD SEE THE PHARMACIST FOR MINOR AILMENTS
You should use these appointments for problems that are not on-going and require you to see a doctor soon. If you do not manage to get an appointment one day you can continue to phone back each morning, as the appointments will be released every day.
We are trying this system, as at the present time you often have to wait a long time to see the doctor of your choice. We hope that this system will give you easier access to the doctor of your choice and allow people with urgent problems to see the doctor quickly.

Kennoway Medical Group is proud to be supporting the training and development of St Andrews 2nd year medical students.The students will be in the Health Centre all day every Tuesday. They will be attending with District nurses, Podiatry, practice nurses, GP’s and clinics.If for any reason you do not wish to have a student attending your appointment please advise reception.
